New Course: Fragments of an Integral Future
Join me on August 29 for a philosophical and embodied exploration of our time between worlds. Seven sessions.
Dear readers,
I'm delighted to announce the return of last year's popular online course, "Fragments of an Integral Future."
Fragments of an Integral Future: A Philosophical and Embodied Exploration of our Time Between Worlds (August 29 - October 10)
In this course we trace the path of the rhizome into new narratives that reclaim the future from stories of Western progress, re-imagine our relationship with the-more-than-human world and help us embody ecological wisdom and planetary homecoming.
In order to arrive here, in this transformational present, we will have to come to know the intimate relationship between meaning and matter, the fluctuating dance of shifting worldviews, new ways of embodying our relationship with time, becoming, and human “development,” and attune not merely our “sensemaking” but our “mythmaking” capacities towards new ecological and planetary possibilities.
Course Outline
I - Introduction: Rhizomes, Mycelia, Lichen and the Planetary Imaginary
II - Earth Soma: Inner Ecology, Trauma Healing, and Initiation
III - This Globe, Which Does Not Exist: From Globalization to Planetization
IV - Life, Death and Rebirth as a Metamorphic Being
V - Planetary Mythmaking: Seven Stories from the Future
VI - Embodying Ecological Paradigms
VII - Medicine Bundles for a Time Between Worlds
This year I am joined by my partner, astrid montuclard, who will be co-hosting this course with me.
Lessons will alternate between investigative theory and praxis, thinking and embodiment.
This course will be building on many of the concepts and themes developed last year. It's the other side of the coin - or the face of the titan Janus - turning more towards the presence of the future than the past.
If you've been following my writing on "rhizome time," you know that the past and future, like roots that tangle and dance, are far more intimate with each other than they appear to be on the surface.
Registration for the course is offered on a sliding scale. Patrons and paid subscribers receive an additional $10 discount. See below in the paid subscribers section for the coupon code.
The next few months, leading up to the end of November, will also be the wrap-up of the writing process for Fragments (Integral Imprint 2023). It's been a long time coming, but like Tolkien's wizards, perhaps the book is arriving precisely when it means to.
Please see below for more information about the course - and thanks again for your continued passion and enthusiasm for the return of this one. I'm honored to be offering it again in 2023.
In gratitude,
Jeremy
